# Sportsdle

> Sportsdle is a free website of daily sports guessing games in the spirit of Wordle, for the NHL, NFL, NBA, MLB, college football, Premier League soccer, UFC and Formula 1. Each sport has a Classic puzzle with one mystery athlete per day, the same for every player, plus grids, career paths and perfect-season lineup challenges (84-0, 17-0, 82-0).

How the daily Classic works:

- A new mystery athlete is drawn for every sport just after midnight Eastern Time (ET).
- Each guess is compared with the answer on attributes such as team, position, age, nationality and jersey number: green is a match, arrows point higher or lower on numbers.
- The board tracks 10 guesses, but a miss never ends the game: players keep guessing until they find the athlete. A bonus clue unlocks after 5 guesses and the athlete's photo after 8 (a hometown clue in college football, which shows no photos).
- Every daily puzzle is free in the browser, with no account needed. Yesterday's puzzle is free in the archive; Sportsdle Pro, an optional subscription, removes ads and adds unlimited modes and the full archive.
- Free apps for iPhone and Android carry the daily games.
- Clues come from public league data (the NHL's stats API, ESPN, CollegeFootballData.com, the Jolpica-Ergast F1 database). Player data for every sport except soccer is refreshed each Sunday night.
