What the wheel is good for
The obvious use is settling arguments: who each person in a group has to defend, which player somebody has to build a take around, whose career you have to recite from memory. A wheel removes the negotiation.
The other use is discovery. The pool runs far deeper than the names you would think of unprompted, so most spins land on somebody you half-remember — which is exactly the knowledge the daily guessing games reward.
How the spin works
Twelve players are drawn from the pool onto the wheel. Spinning picks one of the twelve at random and stops the pointer on it. Nothing is weighted — a fourth-liner has the same odds as a first-ballot Hall of Famer.
If none of the twelve on screen appeal, "New names" reshuffles the wheel from the wider pool before you spin. The pool itself rotates daily.

How is the random player chosen?
Uniformly. Twelve players are drawn from the pool onto the wheel, and the spin selects one of them with equal probability. There is no weighting by era, team or fame.
What is the difference between this and the random player generator?
The same idea in two formats. The generator returns a name instantly, which is faster when you just need a result. The wheel adds the spin, which is better when several people are watching or you want the draw to feel fair.
Can I see the player's stats after the spin?
Yes — every result links to that player's full page with career regular season and playoff totals, draft details, physical measurements and team history.
